Criteria Labs Selects Magma's Knights Camelot as CAD Navigation Tool of Choice to Direct New Focused-Ion-Beam Hardware Device
May 22, 2008 -- Magma Design Automation, Inc. today announced that Criteria Labs, a semiconductor equipment industry's back-end services companies, has adopted Magma's Knights Camelot CAD navigation software for driving its new focused-ion-beam (FIB) hardware device. Criteria Labs selected Camelot as its CAD navigation tool of choice primarily due to its ability to view layout independent of tool type, cross map layout with images, and drive the tool to very accurate X, Y coordinates for device debug and FIB processing.
Camelot's ability to rapidly convert layout, netlist and design files into a common format for cross mapping enables rapid device debug and repair. Leveraging Camelot's capabilities with FIB hardware, Criteria Labs will be able to more quickly and easily locate potential defects and make corrections faster.
"Adding a hardware tool like the new focused-ion-beam device to our product mix will allow us to further expand our business by providing increased analysis capabilities and more value-added services to our customers," said Doug Myron, President of Criteria Labs. "However, clients also want us to provide CAD navigation to optimize the FIB tool in order to solve their device problems in the most efficient and timely manner possible. Choosing the right CAD navigation solution to drive the FIB tool was absolutely critical to fully utilizing its capabilities. We believe we made the right choice with Camelot."
Magma's Camelot software system is the next-generation CAD navigation standard for failure analysis, design-debug and yield improvement analysis. Camelot optimizes the equipment and personnel resources of design and semiconductor failure analysis labs by providing computer interfaces and navigation capabilities for more than 50 different types of analysis and test equipment. Its application tools, features, options and networking capability provide a complete, integrated system for fast and efficient investigation and resolution of inspection, test and analysis jobs. Camelot also enables closer collaboration between product and design groups with failure analysis labs, thus dramatically improving time to yield and market.
