Timesys Announces LinuxLink Update Service and Git TreeMarch 2, 2009 -- Timesys Corp. has announced the activation of an open source Linux update service for LinuxLink subscribers. The LinuxLink Update Service alerts users about new and updated Linux components that are relevant to their development and provides easy access and integration to selected updates via the Timesys Factory and Timesys Git tree. The Update Service lets developers take advantage of patches in a controlled and orderly manner, reducing the risk associated with using unknown code and the time it takes to research community activity themselves. Update alerts are specific to a subscriber’s ongoing development as they use the Timesys Factory Build System to customize their Linux platform. Git is a distributed Source Code Management and Version Control system as developed by the open source community and hosted on kernel.org. | |
