OCP International Partnership Association (OCP-IP) is an independent, non-profit semiconductor industry consortium formed to administer the support, promotion and enhancement of the Open Core Protocol (OCP). OCP is a fully supported, openly licensed, comprehensive, interface socket for semiconductor intellectual property (IP) cores.
The mission of OCP-IP is to address problems relating to design, verification, and testing which are common to IP core reuse in "plug and play" system-on-chip (SOC) products. This initiative comprehensively fulfills system-level integration requirements by promoting IP core reusability and reducing design time, risk and manufacturing costs for SOC designs. Design teams developing consumer, data processing, telecom (wireless or wired), datacom and mass storage applications can gain significant benefits from the OCP-IP solution.
OCP-IP is funded by annual membership dues. Its three tiered membership structure brings significant benefits for intellectual property companies, integrated device manufacturers, system companies and design houses. Membership benefits include eligibility for working groups, access to community source products and services, and participation in certification "plug-fests." Learn more about member benefits here.
Other member advantages include access to the CoreCreator tool. The CoreCreator provides an environment for simulating the core and analyzing performance and functionality in a system environment. CoreCreator's high degree of automation, featuring tight feedback loops, enables cores to be rapidly componentized to make re-use straightforward and predictable.
