November 29, 2004 -- QuickLogic Corp. has unveiled a Wireless Application Portal on the QuickLogic website. The portal is a comprehensive resource that discusses the challenges associated with wireless system design and provides users with solutions to these challenges, particularly related to 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi.
The QuickLogic Wireless Portal focuses initially on various Wi-Fi solutions on the market today. One of the topics addressed at length is the integration of Wi-Fi technology into embedded systems. Portable embedded systems typically employ processors that do not have an integrated PCI controller, whereas most Wi-Fi devices on the market today do. Therefore, connectivity of Wi-Fi chipsets within these systems is a critical engineering dilemma. QuickLogic's Wireless Portal illustrates how this challenge can be addressed, while meeting the stringent bandwidth, power, board space and cost constraints present in most portable embedded systems.
The wireless segment is the newest addition to the existing suite of application portals such as digital consumer, communications and IP Security on the QuickLogic website. These portals provide a rich source of information including news, white papers, articles, market trends, issues that engineers are facing, and the different solutions that QuickLogic brings to these segments.
