July 19, 2011 -- AuthenTec, Inc. today announced that Core Logic, Inc. has integrated the SafeZone Secure Platform in its newest application processor for enhanced system and platform security. Core Logic's soon-to-be-released CLM9721 processor, aimed at mobile Internet devices, incorporates AuthenTec's new SafeZone Secure Platform, which consists of its SafeXcel-IP-123 Crypto Module, SafeXcel-IP-150 Public Key Accelerator and SafeZone software.

AuthenTec's highly modular SafeZone Secure Platform enhances processor features by offering secure boot, secure storage and secure execution as well as secure hardware root-of-trust, communication and asset storage. Core Logic's CLM9721 will be the latest application processor aimed at the consumer market with extensive multimedia capabilities. This next-generation processor features Full HD (1080p@ 30fps) video recording and playback in MPEG-4 and H.264 video formats, with support for wide range of interfaces and excellent storage connectivity.

AuthenTec's SafeZone Secure Platform consists of the SafeXcel-IP-123 Crypto Module, SafeXcel-IP-150 Public Key Accelerator, Secure Asset Store, Secure Boot, and SafeZone software. The SafeXcel-IP-123 Crypto Module provides a closed execution environment with a security boundary and hardware crypto engines. SafeXcel-IP-150 Public Key Accelerator provides powerful modular mathematical operations required for Public Key algorithms such as RSA, DSA, and ECC. Secure Asset Store enables secure storage, usage and management of sensitive keys and assets, and Secure Boot ensures that only the software images from an authorized source are booted.
