To ensure that you get the most out of SOCcentral we've provided a couple of search options:
A full-text search of the entire site or individual Categories using SOCcentral's own search engine.
The Google-like GlobalSpec search engine that will let you search SOCcentral or the entire "Engineering Web."
When searching the site, we suggest a progressive approach:
Select a Category and do a full-text search within the Category.
Do a full-text search of the entire site.
Finally, you can use the GlobalSpec Engineering Search Engine to search either SOCcentral or the entire "Engineering Web."
The advantage to using GlobalSpec - rather than Google - is that GlobalSpec restricts its searches to engineering-related sites, filtering out irrelevant results. A good example of how this works can be seen by searching on the word "ASICs" using Google. The result is about 13 million items, with most of the early pages devoted to ASICs running shoes!
